Quick setup guide for MP Product Reviews

Follow this guide to publish review features on your Shopify storefront and keep new submissions organized.

Step 1: Open the app​

From your Shopify admin, open MP Product Reviews.

The dashboard includes a setup guide and shortcuts for review moderation, storefront display widgets, settings, and support.

Step 2: Enable app embeds​

Some MP Product Reviews features use Shopify App Embeds.

To enable them:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store.
  2. Click Themes.
  3. Find your current theme and click Customize.
  4. Open App embeds.
  5. Enable the MP Product Reviews embeds you want to use.
  6. Click Save.

Enable the Floating review tab app embed if you want the floating tab to appear. Enable the SEO rich snippets app embed if you want review JSON-LD to be added to eligible product pages.

Step 3: Customize storefront widgets​

In the app, go to Display reviews or Storefront widgets.

You can customize:

  • Reviews list
  • Star rating
  • Floating review tab

Each widget includes a live preview. Adjust the display, appearance, empty state, pagination, and form settings before saving.

Step 4: Add review blocks to your product page​

The Reviews list and Star rating widgets are Shopify Theme App Blocks.

To add them:

  1. Open the Shopify theme editor.
  2. Open a product page template.
  3. Choose the section where you want reviews to appear.
  4. Click Add block.
  5. Select Apps.
  6. Add Reviews list or Star rating.
  7. Move the block to the right position.
  8. Click Save.

Step 5: Configure review settings​

Go to Settings in MP Product Reviews.

Review the following options:

  • Send new review notification emails
  • Notification email
  • Auto publish non-spam reviews
  • Enable SEO rich snippets

If you enable SEO rich snippets, open the theme editor and enable the SEO app embed, then run Re-check in the app.

Step 6: Test the storefront​

Open a product page on your storefront and check:

  • The star rating appears where you added it
  • The reviews list appears where you added it
  • The write review form opens from the reviews list
  • The floating review tab appears if the embed is enabled
  • New reviews appear in Manage reviews after submission

Setup checklist​

  • App embeds checked in the theme editor
  • Reviews list or Star rating block added to product template
  • Storefront widgets customized and saved
  • Notification email reviewed
  • Moderation settings reviewed
  • SEO rich snippets enabled only if needed
  • Storefront product page tested
