How to add review blocks to your Shopify theme

The Reviews list and Star rating widgets are Shopify Theme App Blocks.

After customizing the widgets in MP Product Reviews, add the blocks to your product page template so shoppers can see them.

Add the Reviews list block​

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store.
  2. Click Themes.
  3. Find your current theme and click Customize.
  4. Open a product page template.
  5. Choose the section where you want the full review list to appear.
  6. Click Add block.
  7. Select Apps.
  8. Choose Reviews list.
  9. Move the block to your preferred position.
  10. Click Save.

The Reviews list includes the review summary, published review items, pagination, and the write review form.

Add the Star rating block​

  1. Open the product page template in the Shopify theme editor.
  2. Choose the section where you want the compact rating to appear.
  3. Click Add block.
  4. Select Apps.
  5. Choose Star rating.
  6. Move it near the product title, price, or buying actions.
  7. Click Save.
  • Place Star rating near the product title or price.
  • Place Reviews list lower on the product page where shoppers expect detailed customer feedback.
  • Check both desktop and mobile before publishing changes.

If blocks do not appear​

Check the following:

  • You are editing the current live theme.
  • You opened a product page template.
  • The block was added to the template used by the product you are checking.
  • You clicked Save in the Shopify theme editor.
  • The product has published reviews if the widget is hidden when empty.
