Why are review photos not uploading?

If customers cannot upload review photos, check the upload requirements and widget settings.

Photo uploads may be disabled​

Photo uploads are controlled by the Reviews list widget form settings.

To check:

  1. Open MP Product Reviews.
  2. Go to Display reviews or Storefront widgets.
  3. Open Reviews list.
  4. Go to the Modal settings.
  5. Check Allow upload photos.
  6. Click Save.

Too many images were selected​

Customers can upload up to 5 images per review.

If they select more than 5 images, the upload is rejected.

File type is not supported​

Review photos must be one of these types:

  • JPEG
  • PNG
  • WebP

File size is too large​

Each image must be 5 MB or smaller.

Ask the customer to compress the image or upload a smaller file.

Shopify file processing is delayed​

Review images are uploaded to Shopify Files. Sometimes Shopify needs a short time to process an image.

If the customer sees a processing-related error, ask them to try again after a short wait.
