Why are SEO rich snippets not working?

If SEO rich snippets are not working as expected, check both the app setting and the Shopify app embed.

SEO rich snippets are not enabled in the app​

Open MP Product Reviews, go to Settings, and turn on Enable SEO rich snippets.

Click Save after changing the setting.

The SEO app embed is not enabled​

The SEO rich snippets feature uses an App Embed that outputs JSON-LD in the page head.

To enable it:

  1. Open Shopify theme editor.
  2. Go to App embeds.
  3. Enable SEO rich snippets.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Return to MP Product Reviews and click Re-check.

The product has no published reviews​

Review JSON-LD is rendered only when the product has at least one published review.

Pending and unpublished reviews are not included.

You are not checking a product page​

The SEO embed outputs product review JSON-LD on product pages.

Check a product page with published reviews.

Search results may take time​

Search engines decide whether to show rich results. Even with valid JSON-LD, rich result display is not guaranteed and may take time.
