MP Tracking Pixel Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") apply to your access to and use of MP Tracking Pixel (the "App"), a Shopify app provided by Merchant Playbook ("Merchant Playbook", "we", "us", or "our").

By installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to any applicable Merchant Playbook policies, including our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the App.

If you install or use the App on behalf of a company, store, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms. In that case, "you" and "your" refer to that organization.

1. App purpose and scope​

MP Tracking Pixel helps Shopify merchants send selected storefront and checkout events to Google Analytics 4 using Shopify Web Pixels, a managed collector, and the GA4 Measurement Protocol.

The app may provide tools for:

  • Connecting a GA4 Measurement ID and Measurement Protocol API secret
  • Managing a Tracking ID
  • Choosing ecommerce events to send
  • Configuring GA4 item_id mapping
  • Loading storefront gtag.js through the Tracking snippet app embed
  • Testing event delivery with GA4 Realtime or DebugView
  • Viewing monthly event and purchase usage

The App is provided for business use by Shopify merchants. It is not a legal, compliance, advertising, analytics consulting, tax, privacy, or data governance service.

2. Eligibility and Shopify account​

You may use the App only if you:

  • Are at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction
  • Have a valid Shopify store or are authorized to act for one
  • Can enter into a legally binding agreement
  • Use the App only for lawful business purposes

Your use of Shopify remains subject to Shopify's own terms, policies, permissions, billing rules, and platform requirements.

3. License to use the App​

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Merchant Playbook grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the App for your own Shopify store or business operations.

You may not copy, resell, sublicense, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, attempt to extract source code from, or create derivative works based on the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

4. Merchant responsibilities​

You are responsible for your analytics setup and compliance obligations.

You agree that:

  • You will use the App only for lawful analytics and measurement purposes
  • You are responsible for your GA4 property, Measurement ID, API secret, and Google configuration
  • You will disclose tracking, analytics, cookies, consent, and data practices to shoppers as required by law
  • You will obtain any required consent before collecting or sending analytics events
  • You will configure Shopify customer privacy settings, consent tools, tracking snippets, and GA4 settings consistently with your legal obligations
  • You will not use the App to collect, send, infer, or combine sensitive information unlawfully
  • You will not include personal information in URLs, product fields, event names, custom settings, or other fields where doing so would violate Shopify, Google, or applicable law
  • You are responsible for your advertising, analytics, attribution, consent, privacy, data processing, and compliance obligations

The App may help send selected events to GA4, but it does not verify that your analytics setup, consent flow, data mapping, event payloads, GA4 configuration, advertising use, or privacy notices are legally compliant or technically complete.

5. Tracking configuration and permissions​

"Tracking Configuration" means your GA4 Measurement ID, Measurement Protocol API secret, Tracking ID settings, enabled event settings, item ID mapping, storefront app embed settings, gtag.js settings, usage settings, and other content, credentials, or configuration you provide or make available through the App.

You retain ownership of your Tracking Configuration. You grant Merchant Playbook a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, adapt, and otherwise use Tracking Configuration and related event information only as needed to provide, maintain, secure, support, and improve the App.

You represent and warrant that you have all rights, permissions, licenses, notices, and consents necessary to configure the App, provide credentials, collect event data, and send selected analytics events to GA4.

6. Acceptable use​

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, harmful, abusive, or infringing purpose
  • Use the App to collect, send, or infer sensitive personal information unlawfully
  • Send data to GA4 in violation of Google policies, Shopify policies, applicable law, or your own privacy notices
  • Misrepresent analytics performance, attribution, consent status, data sources, or event accuracy
  • Interfere with, disrupt, overload, scan, or test the vulnerability of the App or related systems without permission
  • Circumvent usage limits, quota modes, security controls, billing controls, delivery controls, consent controls, or access restrictions
  • Use the App to transmit malware, malicious code, spam, or unauthorized tracking
  • Attempt to access another merchant's store, data, account, events, credentials, or configuration
  • Resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App outside your own business operations

We may remove or restrict Tracking Configuration, suspend features, stop event delivery, or limit access if we believe your use of the App violates these Terms, applicable law, Shopify policies, Google policies, or creates risk for Merchant Playbook, Shopify, Google, merchants, shoppers, or third parties.

7. Plans, billing, and taxes​

The App may be offered for free, with paid plans, with usage-based charges, with trial periods, monthly event or purchase limits, or with other pricing options shown in Shopify or in the App.

If fees apply, charges are handled through Shopify unless we state otherwise. You authorize Shopify or the applicable payment provider to charge the fees, taxes, and other amounts associated with your selected plan or usage.

Fees, billing cycles, upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, taxes, and refunds may be governed by Shopify's billing rules, the App listing, and any pricing information shown at the time you subscribe. Unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable and are not prorated for partial billing periods.

You are responsible for all taxes, duties, levies, and governmental charges associated with your use of the App, except taxes based on Merchant Playbook's net income.

8. Analytics, Shopify, Google, and third-party services​

MP Tracking Pixel can send events to Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics, Shopify, and other third-party services are governed by their own terms, policies, settings, and technical requirements.

The App may rely on Shopify Web Pixels, Shopify APIs, theme app embeds, GA4, the GA4 Measurement Protocol, gtag.js, hosting providers, analytics tools, queues, email providers, support tools, and other third-party services.

We are not responsible for how Google Analytics, Shopify, browsers, privacy tools, consent tools, checkout behavior, ad blockers, network conditions, theme code, third-party apps, or third-party services process, block, report, attribute, or display events.

9. Usage limits and delivery​

MP Tracking Pixel may apply monthly event or purchase limits, quota modes, retries, or delivery controls to keep the app reliable.

Event delivery may be delayed, blocked, retried, or fail because of app settings, usage limits, missing credentials, third-party errors, browser behavior, network issues, consent requirements, or platform restrictions.

Usage counters, event delivery status, and purchase counts are provided for operational visibility and may not match Shopify, GA4, advertising platforms, or other analytics systems exactly.

10. App availability and changes​

We may update, improve, suspend, or change app features at any time.

We work to keep the App reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, complete analytics accuracy, complete event delivery, data recovery, or compatibility with every Shopify theme, checkout flow, browser, consent tool, privacy setting, GA4 property, analytics configuration, region, product type, or third-party app.

We may add, modify, limit, or discontinue features, event types, mappings, retries, quota modes, delivery controls, tracking snippets, integrations, or support for certain Shopify or Google capabilities. We are not liable for modifications, suspensions, or discontinuation of the App or any feature.

11. No guaranteed business results​

MP Tracking Pixel is designed to support analytics and event measurement.

We do not guarantee specific attribution results, conversion reporting, ad performance, sales increases, analytics accuracy, event completeness, platform matching, revenue, or business outcomes.

12. Privacy and data protection​

Our collection and use of information is described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for providing any required privacy notices, cookie disclosures, consent mechanisms, analytics disclosures, data processing notices, and other disclosures to shoppers and storefront visitors in connection with your use of the App, your Shopify store, GA4, and any third-party services you use.

If you provide personal information to the App or instruct us to process personal information, you represent that you have all necessary rights, notices, consents, and legal bases required by applicable law.

13. Intellectual property​

Merchant Playbook owns the app, interface, documentation, design assets, and related materials, except for content, settings, or credentials you provide.

You may use the app only for your own Shopify store or business operations according to these Terms.

If you provide feedback, suggestions, ideas, or feature requests, you grant Merchant Playbook a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.

14. Disclaimer of warranties​

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.

Merchant Playbook disclaims all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, reliability, security, compatibility, analytics accuracy, event delivery, attribution accuracy, and error-free operation.

You use the App at your own risk and remain responsible for reviewing your App settings, event payloads, delivery status, GA4 reports, consent configuration, and analytics output before relying on them publicly or for business decisions.

15. Indemnification​

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Merchant Playbook and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, service providers, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to:

  • Your use or misuse of the App
  • Your Tracking Configuration, GA4 credentials, event settings, analytics events, event payloads, consent configuration, products, services, or storefront
  • Your violation of these Terms, applicable laws, Shopify policies, Google policies, or third-party rights
  • Your relationship or transactions with shoppers, customers, suppliers, partners, advertising platforms, analytics platforms, or other third parties
  • Your privacy, analytics, advertising, consent, data protection, product, tax, shipping, return, payment, or compliance obligations

16. Limitation of liability​

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Merchant Playbook is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages related to your use of MP Tracking Pixel.

This includes loss of profits, revenue, data, analytics reports, ad performance, business opportunities, goodwill, or conversion tracking.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Merchant Playbook's total liability for any claim related to the App or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid to Merchant Playbook for the App during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, the limitations apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.

17. Termination and suspension​

You may stop using the app by uninstalling it from your Shopify store.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the App if we believe the App is being used in violation of these Terms, applicable laws, Shopify policies, Google policies, or in a way that creates risk for Merchant Playbook, Shopify, Google, merchants, shoppers, or third-party services.

Upon termination, your right to access and use the App ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including merchant responsibilities, payment obligations, intellectual property, privacy, disclaimers, indemnification, limitation of liability, and general terms.

18. Governing law and disputes​

These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict of law rules.

You and Merchant Playbook will try to resolve disputes informally first. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be handled by the competent courts located in Vietnam, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

19. Changes to these Terms​

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our business, legal requirements, or Shopify platform requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.

Your continued use of MP Tracking Pixel after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.

If you do not agree to revised Terms, you must stop using the App and uninstall it from your Shopify store.

20. General terms​

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other Merchant Playbook policies referenced here, make up the agreement between you and Merchant Playbook for the App.

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or by operation of law.

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
