How to enable gtag.js on your storefront

The Enable gtag.js on storefront setting tells MP Tracking Pixel to include your GA4 Measurement ID in the storefront Tracking snippet.

Turn on gtag.js​

  1. Open MP Tracking Pixel.
  2. Go to Tracking IDs.
  3. Open your Tracking ID.
  4. Turn on Enable gtag.js on storefront.
  5. Click Save.

Enable the app embed​

After turning on gtag.js, enable the Tracking snippet app embed in your Shopify theme.

Without the app embed, the app cannot load the Google tag script on the storefront.

When to use this setting​

Enable gtag.js when you want MP Tracking Pixel to load Google tag code for the configured GA4 Measurement ID.

This is especially useful while testing with GA4 DebugView because DebugView relies on storefront Google tag configuration.
