How to edit, activate, deactivate, or delete a Tracking ID

Use the Tracking IDs page to control whether MP Tracking Pixel sends selected Shopify events to GA4.

Edit a Tracking ID​

  1. Open MP Tracking Pixel.
  2. Go to Tracking IDs.
  3. Click Edit beside the Tracking ID.
  4. Update the fields you want to change.
  5. Click Save.

Editing the Measurement ID, API secret, DebugView mode, selected events, gtag.js, or item_id mapping can trigger a storefront sync.

Activate a Tracking ID​

  1. Go to Tracking IDs.
  2. Click Activate beside the Tracking ID.

When active, MP Tracking Pixel can send selected events to GA4.

Deactivate a Tracking ID​

  1. Go to Tracking IDs.
  2. Click Deactivate beside the Tracking ID.

When no Tracking ID is active, MP Tracking Pixel stops sending events and removes the managed Shopify Web Pixel for the store.

Delete a Tracking ID​

  1. Go to Tracking IDs.
  2. Click Delete beside the Tracking ID.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

Deleting a Tracking ID stops sending events to that GA4 destination and cannot be undone from the app.

Sync timing​

After editing, activating, deactivating, or deleting a Tracking ID, storefront sync may take 2-5 minutes.
