Why is GA4 DebugView not showing events?

DebugView needs both MP Tracking Pixel settings and storefront Google tag setup.

Check DebugView mode​

  1. Open MP Tracking Pixel.
  2. Go to Tracking IDs.
  3. Open your Tracking ID.
  4. Turn on GA4 DebugView mode.
  5. Click Save.

Check gtag.js​

In the same Tracking ID, make sure Enable gtag.js on storefront is turned on.

DebugView testing works best when the storefront Google tag is loaded.

Check the Tracking snippet app embed​

  1. Go to Tracking IDs.
  2. Click Open theme editor.
  3. Enable Tracking snippet in App embeds.
  4. Save the theme.
  5. Return to the app and click Re-check.

Wait for sync​

After changing DebugView, gtag.js, or app embed settings, wait 2-5 minutes and test again.

Test a fresh storefront session​

Open the storefront in a new browser session, then view a product, add an item to cart, or complete a test checkout.
