Tracked purchases and event limits
MP Tracking Pixel uses monthly limits to keep event delivery reliable for stores on the current plan.
Default monthly limits
The current default monthly limits are:
- 50,000 total events
- 75,000 total event hard limit
- 100 tracked purchases
- 120 tracked purchase grace limit
What happens near a limit
When usage reaches the monthly event limit or purchase limit, MP Tracking Pixel can prioritize critical checkout events.
When usage reaches the hard event limit or purchase grace limit, MP Tracking Pixel can prioritize purchase events only.
Event priority modes
The collector can use these modes:
| Mode | What it means |
|---|---|
| Normal | Eligible enabled events can be delivered |
| Critical only | Checkout started, shipping info, payment info, and purchase events are prioritized |
| Purchase only | Only checkout completed purchase events are delivered |
| Blocked | Events are blocked, such as when there is no active Tracking ID |
Purchase retries
If a purchase event fails because of a temporary GA4 delivery error, MP Tracking Pixel can retry the purchase event up to 3 times.
This helps protect important conversion events, but it can also mean purchase events appear later than other events.
