How to create a product label

Product labels help you highlight important product messages directly on product images, such as sale, new arrival, best seller, limited offer, or organic.

Before you start​

Make sure the Product labels app embed is enabled in your Shopify theme.

If the app embed is not enabled, product labels will not appear on your storefront.

Open product labels​

  1. From your Shopify admin, open MP Trust Badges & Labels.
  2. Go to Product labels.
  3. Click Create new label.

Enter a label name​

Add a name for your label.

This name is only used inside the app to help you manage your labels. Customers will not see it unless you also use the same text as the label content.

Choose a label type​

You can create two types of labels:

  • Text label: A label with custom text, shape, colors, and font.
  • Image label: A ready-made label design from the label library.

Choose the type that best matches your campaign.

Customize the label​

Depending on the label type, you can customize options such as:

  • Label text
  • Shape
  • Font
  • Text color
  • Background color
  • Label image
  • Desktop size
  • Mobile size
  • Animation

Use the preview to check how the label looks before saving.

Choose the label position​

Select where the label should appear on the product image.

Available positions include:

  • Top left
  • Top center
  • Top right
  • Middle left
  • Middle center
  • Middle right
  • Bottom left
  • Bottom center
  • Bottom right

You can also adjust margins to fine-tune the label position.

Set display conditions​

Choose which products should show the label.

You can show the label on:

  • All products
  • Specific products
  • Products with specific tags

If you choose specific products or tags, make sure at least one product or tag is selected.

Set display timing​

Choose when the label should appear.

You can:

  • Show the label every day
  • Show the label during a selected date range

Date ranges use your Shopify store timezone.

Save the label​

When your label is ready, click Save.

After saving, you will return to the product labels list.

Check the label status​

New labels are saved in the product labels list.

Make sure the label status is Active if you want it to appear on your storefront.

Check your storefront​

Open a product page that matches the label conditions.

If the label does not appear immediately, wait a few minutes and refresh the page.
