What to do after changing or publishing a Shopify theme

When you change or publish a Shopify theme, some app settings may need to be checked again.

MP Trust Badges & Labels uses Shopify theme features to display trust badges and product labels. Because of this, a new or different theme may not have the same app blocks or app embeds enabled.

Check trust badges​

Trust badges are displayed through a Theme App Block.

After publishing or changing your theme:

  1. Go to Online Store in your Shopify admin.
  2. Click Themes.
  3. Click Customize on your current theme.
  4. Open a product page template.
  5. Check if the Trust badges block is still added.
  6. If it is missing, add the Trust badges block again.
  7. Place it where you want the badges to appear.
  8. Click Save.

Common placements include below the Add to cart button or near payment and shipping information.

Check product labels​

Product labels are displayed through an App Embed.

After publishing or changing your theme:

  1. Go to Online Store in your Shopify admin.
  2. Click Themes.
  3. Click Customize on your current theme.
  4. Open App embeds.
  5. Make sure Product labels is turned on.
  6. Click Save.

If the app embed is disabled on the new theme, product labels will not appear.

Re-check setup in the app​

After enabling the app embed, go back to MP Trust Badges & Labels.

Open Product labels and click Re-check if the setup banner is still showing.

This helps confirm whether the app embed is enabled correctly.

Review your storefront​

Open a product page on your live storefront and check:

  • Trust badges appear in the correct position
  • Product labels appear on the correct products
  • Label position looks good on the product image
  • Layout works on desktop and mobile

Check product templates​

Some themes use multiple product templates.

If badges or labels appear on one product but not another, check whether those products use different templates.

You may need to add the Trust badges block to each product template where you want badges to appear.

If something is missing​

If trust badges or product labels are not showing after changing themes, check:

  • You are editing the current live theme
  • The Trust badges block is added to the correct product template
  • The Product labels app embed is enabled
  • The Shopify theme editor was saved
  • Your labels are active and match the product conditions
  • You are viewing a product page

When to contact support​

Contact support if you have checked the theme setup but badges or labels still do not appear.

Please include:

  • Your store URL
  • The product page URL
  • The theme name
  • Whether the issue is about trust badges or product labels
  • A screenshot of your theme editor setup
